We truly understand you, Every bride wants to achieve that natural glowing fresh skin on their wedding day. This article will help you understand your skin and how to manage it better.

Oily skin stems out from excessive sebum production by your sebaceous gland. But don’t you fret. Your oily skin has its benefits as well. Did you know that it helps maintain your skin’s natural moisture barriers and protects it from bacterial and fungal infections. The downside however excessive oil production clogs pores. These clogged pores cause the problem like acne, whiteheads and blackheads. For us to address it we must consider reasons why your glands are going haywire.

1. Hormones

Yep, most of the time the culprit are your hormones. Imbalances and changes in your hormonal activity can affect your oil glands production. Have you ever noticed to be more prone to oiliness every time you are due for your menstrual cycle.

Tip: Once you are familiar that hormones are the culprit during that time of the month change up your oil control beauty regimen. You can also ask help from your friendly dermatologist for proper medication.

2. Stress

When your body becomes stressed, It’s response will increase your Cortisol production in turn causes your skin to be oily. Stress also induce water loss inhibiting the ability of the skin to repair itself.

Tip: Take one day at a time we know that wedding preparation can be stressful and tedious but don’t let it take a toll on your body. Sharing with you Matthew 6:34 “Never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties.” and prayer also helps “Throw all your anxiety on [God], because he cares for you,” says 1 Peter 5:7

3. Improper regimen

Harsh products that are unsuitable for your skin dries it up and triggers excessive oil production. The oil production compensates for the lack of moisture on the surface of your skin.

Tip: Find a product that is mild and gentle on your skin.

4. Environment

Heat and humidity combination can set your oil glands into overdrive. Unfortunately our weather here in the Philippines naturally causes increased sebum production.

5. Hereditary

Your skin type maybe passed to you from your parents.

Tip: A good skin care regimen can help you in controlling oiliness

6. Medication

Are you taking medications for contraception and hormonal imbalance? yes, they do trigger oil production.

Tip: Don’t worry, Your skin will return to normal once you’re off medication.

7. Diet and Lifestyle

I’m sorry to inform you that sugary, greasy food maybe the culprit to your oily complexion.

But did you know that products like milk, butter and yes, cheese can also cause greasiness and clogged pores.
