We are glad that a lot of soon to be brides have a lot of interesting beauty questions. Thank you for your warm response on our Fresh and Radiant bridal beauty tips questions. Most of the questions we got about skin care are about how to address oily skin.
We truly understand you, Every bride wants to achieve that natural glowing fresh skin on their wedding day. This article will help you understand your skin and how to manage it better.
Oily skin stems out from excessive sebum production by your sebaceous gland. But don’t you fret. Your oily skin has its benefits as well. Did you know that it helps maintain your skin’s natural moisture barriers and protects it from bacterial and fungal infections. The downside however excessive oil production clogs pores. These clogged pores cause the problem like acne, whiteheads and blackheads. For us to address it we must consider reasons why your glands are going haywire.
Yep, most of the time the culprit are your hormones. Imbalances and changes in your hormonal activity can affect your oil glands production. Have you ever noticed to be more prone to oiliness every time you are due for your menstrual cycle.
Tip: Once you are familiar that hormones are the culprit during that time of the month change up your oil control beauty regimen. You can also ask help from your friendly dermatologist for proper medication.
When your body becomes stressed, It’s response will increase your Cortisol production in turn causes your skin to be oily. Stress also induce water loss inhibiting the ability of the skin to repair itself.
Tip: Take one day at a time we know that wedding preparation can be stressful and tedious but don’t let it take a toll on your body. Sharing with you Matthew 6:34 “Never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties.” and prayer also helps “Throw all your anxiety on [God], because he cares for you,” says 1 Peter 5:7
3. Improper regimen
Harsh products that are unsuitable for your skin dries it up and triggers excessive oil production. The oil production compensates for the lack of moisture on the surface of your skin.
Tip: Find a product that is mild and gentle on your skin.
Heat and humidity combination can set your oil glands into overdrive. Unfortunately our weather here in the Philippines naturally causes increased sebum production.
Tip: Use appropriate skin care products to cater you skin needs ( Tips on these will follow so stay tuned)
Your skin type maybe passed to you from your parents.
Tip: A good skin care regimen can help you in controlling oiliness
Are you taking medications for contraception and hormonal imbalance? yes, they do trigger oil production.
Tip: Don’t worry, Your skin will return to normal once you’re off medication.
7. Diet and Lifestyle
I’m sorry to inform you that sugary, greasy food maybe the culprit to your oily complexion.
But did you know that products like milk, butter and yes, cheese can also cause greasiness and clogged pores.
Tip: Change your eating habit to a clean and green diet. Your body will surely thank you for it. You’ll be feeling good inside and out.
I hope you were able to find out the culprit behind that greasiness. We wish nothing but your fresh and radiantly glowing skin on your big day. ❤️
It was an honor to be selected to do the hair and make up for the latest music video one of the our country’s pride when it comes OPM (original pinoy music). I was so giddy like a school girl when I received a text from the stylist, Tippy Sy. That I was chosen to do make up for a music video shoot and later to find out that it was my favorite local band.
It was truly a blessing for me. The shoot was on the same day and the last day of my bridal fair at the Before I Do bridal fair at SM Megamall. I was thinking how I will manage both. I decided to leave the bridal fair to my ever supportive boyfriend, family and my superhairstylist. They never did let me down.
God’s grace is unending. He blessed us to hit number 1 spot in the Pinoy MYX countdown after its release. It was truly an experience to have worked with wonderful and talented people in the industry.

For the peg of the music video the creative team wanted the shoot to be all black and white. They will be playing with lights and dolly movements of the subjects.
The make up inspiration was Twiggy with a modern twist. They also noted that the make up to be very particular with the small details since it will be shot in High Definition and Black and white.
(Funny Armi, sad daw dapat pag before pic LOL 😉 )
For Armi’s hair. It was done in a sleek hairstyle.
The make up done is also more contoured on the eyes and darker on colored version. To achieve its sophisticated look on black and white.
I also used double lashes and lashes on the lower lash line to make the eyes more dramatic. The lower waterline i line with matte white liner to achieve a more pronounced eyes when shot in monochrome.
Here are some of the behind the scenes photos is took during our shoot :
